Overview
The Suzuki School is a preparatory preschool,
committed to providing the very young with the
best in Early Childhood education. Our belief in
the innate ability and talent of every child has
guided us to create an environment rich in
language, discovery and stimulation. The school
has two campuses located in the heart of
Buckhead, which both operate from 7:00 AM to
6:00 PM Monday through Friday. The hours of 9:00
AM to 4:00 PM constitute the academic portion of
the day; the hours before and after this time
incorporate times of child-centered learning and
play.

Our school educates and cares for children
from infancy through Kindergarten.

Early stimulation
of a child’s brain has been shown to maximize
the child’s learning potential; this is at the
core of the Suzuki philosophy. We find that our
students thrive when they are exposed to
appropriate and stimulating materials and
programs. We believe that early stimulation
should start at infancy since the lessons
learned at that age will shape the child’s
subsequent learning ability.
Our Teachers
are trained in early childhood development, and
each teaching team collaborates to plan lessons
and provide an enriching and stimulating
experience for our students. These teams,
comprised of four to seven teachers, collaborate
to provide a highly interesting and stimulating
learning environment for our students. Our
experience has found that when a teaching team
interacts with your child, each teacher can
recognize and nurture something unique and
valuable in your child’s developmental journey.
Each team member teaches a specialized subject
while collaborating with co-teachers in every
other area. Our low pupil-teacher ratio enables
our teachers to provide our children with
sensitive, responsive care and academic
preparation. Such individualized care and
instruction provides a secure foundation for a
child’s emotional and cognitive development and
prepares each student for the educational
journey ahead.
Thoughtfully designed classrooms
expose children to a deep appreciation for
creative endeavors, order and tranquility. Each
classroom is designed to be aesthetically
beautiful as well as functional. As children are
exposed to beauty in color, form and context,
they are imbued with an appreciation of the
object. That, in turn, stimulates their
perception and understanding.

Quality materials,
designed to stimulate and develop physical,
language and cognitive growth, are central to
our program. We develop or acquire top quality
educational materials from a variety of sources.
A spiral curriculum,
tailored to the needs of each class level,
allows our students to build and reinforce
skills previously learned. Each school year the
curriculum taught and materials used are
tailored based on the age ranges of the children
in the class level. Keeping these factors in
mind, we have designed each classroom to be
flexible in arrangement and usage and in the
classroom’s goals and the associated curriculum
for each school year.
Most of our students have been in our
enriched environment since infancy.
Because our Suzuki philosophy states that the
teacher will be guided by the student as she or
he seeks new experiences or knowledge, you will
find that the materials and curricula used in
the classrooms are very often more advanced than
those found in more traditional environments.
For example, our Kindergarten students use
materials for math, handwriting and phonics
which were developed for first grade classrooms;
our four-year old students learn with materials
developed for Kindergarten.
The Suzuki philosophy and teaching method allow
our program to evolve and grow as the children
inform us.
