Our teachers
share a passion for Early Childhood Education
and the ways in which children learn. In order
to teach at Suzuki, they must demonstrate an
understanding and interest in the developmental
stages of young children, a belief that learning
begins at birth, and must demonstrate their own
interest in life-long learning.

Suzuki teachers have degrees in Elementary
Education, Early Childhood Education or a
related 4-year degree in a Liberal Arts Program.
We seek a diverse group of educators because
diversity is a strength of our program. In rare
instances, a teacher who has not yet completed a
4-year degree may be asked to join one of our
teams because of the talent and passion they
have demonstrated and because they themselves
life-long learners.
Teachers are assigned to collaborative teams
based on experience, interests and talents. Each
team is thoughtfully assembled so that a mix of
all three is woven throughout each. At the start
of the summer session and the school year, some
teams are reconfigured in order to strengthen
them and to support teaching effectiveness.

Our commitment is to the creation of a teaching
environment that attracts and retains teachers
of excellence. In order to achieve this, we
recognize that we must provide an opportunity
for teachers to teach to their potential, to
have a voice in the direction of the school, and
to be able to partner with each other and with
families.
This commitment to the development of genuine
teachers who are seeking a long-term
relationship within our community is a stated
value of The Suzuki School:
“We
develop genuine teachers who wish to be part
of the Suzuki vision: We respect
teachers who have an enthusiasm for learning
– for the teaching of both children and
families and for the teaching of each other.
We attract bright, intellectually curious
educators who hold that the opening of a
young child’s mind is a worthy calling. We
are committed to providing our teachers with
an opportunity for a life-long career, one
which inspires and nurtures the professional
and personal goals of each.”
