suzuki
values
The Suzuki values
are important to each providing the best for
each child, family and teacher at the school. We
take these values very seriously.
1.
We honor our children:
We respect each
child and the family which has placed trust in
us. We continually work to strengthen the bond
we form with the child and his family, viewing
them as our first priority. We promise to create
a space that is loving and safe for every child.

2.
We value the excellence created by a
collaborative approach:
We value teams
which recognize the whole as more effective than
the sum of its parts. The collaborative approach
requires the very best of the teacher each day;
if this is not given, both the team and the
children are noticeably affected. Through
collaboration the accountability to the children
and each other is reinforced daily as part of
the classroom routines and planning. This
teaching approach requires collaboration across
all aspects of the school – not just among the
individual teaching teams. We view each
classroom team as a valuable part of the Suzuki
whole – one of many members within the larger
school environment. We recognize the need for
individual flexibility and fluidity, as teams
are reconfigured to foster both personal and
professional growth and to offer innovation and
strength to the entire teaching
community.
3.
We develop genuine teachers who wish to be a
part of the Suzuki vision:
We respect
teachers who have an enthusiasm for learning –
for the teaching of both children and families
and for the teaching of each other. We attract
bright, intellectually curious educators who
hold that the opening of a young child’s mind is
a worthy calling. We are committed to providing
our teachers with an opportunity for a life-long
career, one which inspires and nurtures the
professional and personal goals of each.

4.
We believe in lifelong learning:
We believe that
education begins at birth and seek a partnership
with parents and teachers who understand the
importance of a life spent learning. We value
the continuous process of both personal and
academic growth, for ourselves and for our
children, and recognize that learning means
experimentation, innovation and sometimes,
failure.
5.
We regard beauty as necessary:
We appreciate the
inherent goodness and order in everything around
us and instill this perspective in the children
we teach. We create an environment in which
beauty can be found and reproduced.

6.
We prize accountability and results:
We value
teachers who hold themselves accountable to the
children, to the parents and to each other. We
esteem those who understand the unique and
direct impact they have on success of each child
and their responsibility in the creation of that
child. Our teaching approach requires teachers
who will selflessly hold each other accountable
for doing what is best for the children in a way
that demonstrates emotional maturity and fosters
collaboration.
7.
We require productive and respectful
relationships within our diverse community:
We seek
willing partners in the extraordinary task of
teaching a young child so that we may all grow
together. We value respectful, effective and
honest dialog which requires an ability to
listen closely and to honor each other. We
recognize that integrity in communications and
in actions are fundamental to our Suzuki heart.
We seek to establish a community that is diverse
in population and multi-cultural in background.
